Happy Holidays, Hope! It was my pleasure to help and I’m so glad you enjoyed the show! No matter how rotten I feel, A Christmas Carol always makes me feel renewed. It is such a powerful story of redemption and hope, I walk away feeling as though I am a better person.

Rush Tickets are available for each and every one of the IRT productions! As you say, it’s a calculated risk in terms of seating but I say it just adds a hint of suspense and excitement to your theatregoing experience! They are available in-person at the Ticket Office one hour before each show.

Many happy returns for 2010! May your pen always have ink, your keyboard be ergonomic, and may you always find a miracle when you need one!

Thanks, Jim. I think the IRT does do the 1/2 price thing for all their shows. An acquaintance told me that it’s something most professional theatres in New York do, too. I want to say it’s called “rushing,” but I’m not sure about that. I think you have to ask for the bargain, and it’s only available if you go to the Ticket Office LESS than an hour before curtain.

And you really do take your chances on what kind of seat you’ll get.

But for someone whose personal arts budget has been cut (and whose hasn’t?), it can be a way to get in to see professional shows that one wouldn’t otherwise get to see.

Press releases contain facts. They aren’t terribly interesting. Write from your heart and head. Enjoy what you do. Deny the block. And have a great 2010.
