Hope, having been lucky enough to have performed in "Insane With Power" at Clinton County Civic Theatre and having attended the stage-reading of "A Very Bad Day for Brandon Butterworth" and having watched "Mind Over Matt" three times and considering myself a good friend of Scott's and Rhonda's (Scott's talented and lovely wife), I could not be happier with his success. Scott has been a valuable asset to CCCT in Frankfort for many years now and we tend to puff with pride in his accomplishments. Thank you for the wonderful review. jw

Hi, Hope.
I think I can speak for the company when I say we're really glad there's been such a great response to the show. Scott has put together a both truly heart-warming and raucous joyride. He's shown himself a master of comedic formula, standing head and shoulders above other local authors (quite literally).
Anyway, hi folks, it's Jonathan (Floyd)! Thanks for the sweet review, Hope. And, FYI, the "hairy knees" would not be a necessary character feature in future productions. It's really something I can't control. :-)

Thanks for reading, Scott, and for the clarifications and comments!

I loved the "groaners" in the show, by the way.

I am relieved and delighted to hear that you do have a feminine side after all. I bet you have an inner Dylan, too.

Wow, thanks for the great article, Hope! It was wonderful to finally meet you, and I'm truly honored that a reviewer of your stature made our show a stop on your itinerary!

I LOVE this show--and I'm not saying that because I'm biased for it, I'm saying that DESPITE being biased AGAINST it. Having read it about 3,500 times in the writing process, I had difficulty seeing the humor any more...until the Red Barn brought it to life. These actors are amazing, and they bring so much more depth and richness to the story than what was on the page. It's a miracle that they're making me laugh at the show all over again! I hope (no pun intended) that I didn't sound anything less than glowing about the production when speaking with you afterwards, because I literally couldn't be happier with it. The only faults I see lie in my own writing, and that's just because I am my own worst critic. (Aren't we all?) There are a few stray lines (probably the same "groaners" you mentioned) that I actually feel guilty for making these actors deliver! But somehow, they make them work anyway.

One clarification that I got a kick out of: I think you apparently misheard me and thought I said that I didn't have a "feminine" side. I do...In fact, one point of the play is that ALL men do. I derive a little TOO much enjoyment out of "Sex and the City" and Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals, if I'm being honest. : ) What I actually said is that I don't have a "Dylan" side (i.e. the suave, "good with the ladies" aspect). THAT character was in no way autobiographical, but all the others are definitely in the mix. : )

By the way, I'm hoping to be at most of the remaining shows this weekend after all, so for anybody who makes it out to the Barn, be sure to come up and say "Hi"! Thanks again, Hope!!!

I did see "Insane With Power", have read "Brandon Butterworth", and will see this show tonight, Good Lord Willin' and the crick don't rise. (literally, this summer!) I appreciate Scott's humor, admire his perseverance, and applaud his work.
